FIREARM CONTROL
ACT 60/2000

The Firearm Control Act 60/2000 covers the legal knowledge of the Firearms Control Act of 2000 (Act No. 60 of 2000).


This course offers a higher level of firearm proficiency. It is a requirement for any institution using firearms for business purposes (E.g. Security, companies, Gunsmiths etc). The purpose of this course is to provide knowledge of safe handling of firearms in a business environment and to demonstrate the use of a firearm under adverse conditions. The legal knowledge of the Firearms Control Act 60/2000 and Handling and Use of a Firearm courses are both prerequisite courses you must complete before you are eligible to take this course.

This course covers the legal aspects concerning when a firearm may be used or not used for the purposes of self-defence and also covers other legal uses of firearms, cleaning, handling, basic inspection, safety and maintenance of firearms by private users. The legal knowledge of the Firearms Control Act 60/2000 is a pre-requisite to be eligible for this course.

RANGE OFFICER

This training applies to all individuals wishing to oversee shooting exercises at the shooting range. The applicant will be able to effectively control a shooting range for the safety of all shooters and spectators.

TACTICAL PROFICIENCY

 This category is intended for all persons who would need to use a firearm/s in a tactical environment. This is an advance level course. Pre requirement is handle and use of a firearm.
